We will inspect the extension thoroughly to make sure the windows and doors can take the weight of the Ultraroof, but in any case, it is a very lightweight system. It isn’t unheard of for Crystal Clear to have an Ultraroof watertight in just a few hours and then totally completed a few days later. A speedy installation is only possible because we largely pre-fabricate the system in our purpose-built factory, minimising the amount of time we need to spend at your home to fix it into position. Often made watertight in a single day, you won’t have to wait much longer than that for us to plaster the inside of the ceiling and decorate the space.

Very few replacement roof systems are both LABC (Local Authority Building Control) and LABSS (Local Authority Building Standards Scotland) approved, and the Ultraroof is one of them. This will work in your favour when asking for building regulations approval, if required. When building regulations are alien subject, just have a chat with one of our consultants and they will be able to fill you in on what exactly they’re all about. They can also help you request building regulations approval via your local planning department.
Thermally efficient all year round...
The Ultraroof are typically bought by householders to help them revive thermal efficiency in their old conservatories, and it always does the job of solving that conundrum. You only have to walk into a conservatory with a traditional polycarbonate roof to appreciate just how cold it feels indoors during the winter and how hot it gets in winter.
Offering a ridiculously low U-value of just 0.16 W/m²K, it is easily the most thermally efficient replacement roofing system on the market. It was the first replacement roof containing large rectangular glass panels.
Innovative glazing
The Ultraroof is one of the few roofing systems that enable you to include glass panels in the design and we have a great range of performance glasses to help you fill these apertures. The placement of glass in the solid roof will result in excellent heat control and superb thermal efficiency. Select your performance glass based on the following factors:
Tint – On first sight, you will think that our various glazing options are transparent, but most of them feature a slight tint. This tint is crucial as it influences the overall ambience of the respective conservatory.
U-Value – A U-value tells you all you need to know about heat loss. Anything with a very low U-value provides a very good level of insulation.
Solar Heat Reflection – This is the percentage of total solar energy (heat from the sun) that is prevented from passing through the glass into a room.
Light Transmission – This is the percentage of visible light directly transmitted through the glass.

Authentic colours make our tiles look so natural...
It’s difficult to get your head around the fact that our polymer slate tiles are not actual authentic tiles as they have natural peaks and plateuaxs, and the coloured finishes are amazingly realistic. Fitted 12 slates at a time, they can be installed in no time, and they come in three superb colours: carbon grey, terra brick (red) and harvest brown.
We find that the majority of customers choose a colour for their slates that’s either reminiscent to the colour of the slates they have on the roof of their homes or complements their choice of glazing. There is a very subtle coloured tint on several of our glass options.
We can replace your window frames
You can have a new UPVC frames for your conservatory in pretty much any finish nowadays, or at least you can at Crystal Clear. We have created some really unique colours over the years and they’re only possible because of the specially developed paint application process we like to employ. Along with colours like Whitegrain, White, Cream, Black, Grey and Irish Oak, you can also have a Chartwell Green and countless other finishes.
The secret behind our aluminium finishes is the powder-coating process we use...
With our replacement aluminium frames for your conservatory it takes a total of 11 stages to create each of our aluminium finishes as they’re all brought to life through a strict coloured method. This is the required number of stages to make them so rich and long-lasting. We also provide woodgrain finishes and to create them we do something slightly different. A method called sublimation results in our Walnut, Rosewood and Oak effects, and they’re easily confused for wood.
