How To Make The Most Of Easter At Home

Mar 8, 2016

Working solidly since the turn of the New Year, millions of Britons will be desperately longing for a short break and they will get it in just over 2 weeks’ time. Yes, the Easter Holidays are just around the corner.

The majority of people will get 4 full days off; we appreciate that some will be a little less fortunate but hopefully still get some downtime.

Not going anywhere over Easter? There’s plenty you could be doing at home during your extra time off:

1. Love your garden

Weather permitting, relax in the garden with the rest of the family, or if your garden has taken a battering over winter, tend to it thoroughly by giving the lawn its first cut of the year and removing any weeds.

2. Chill out in the conservatory

Switch off from the world by putting your feet up in the conservatory and reading a good book or newspaper. The space is highly conducive for chilling out as it offers a tranquil atmosphere unlike anywhere else in the house.

3. Play with the kids

Those with young children will need to do as much as they can to keep them occupied. A game of football in the back garden will get their blood pumping (hopefully making them sleepy) or dig out a few board games and puzzles and play as a family.

4. Do some DIY

Have a set of shelves that you’ve been meaning to put up for the last few months or does your bedroom need a fresh coat of paint? There’s no excuse not to complete those important odd jobs around the house.

5. Do some cooking

Get in the kitchen and bake a cake or rustle up your signature dish for everyone to eat. Make it extra special by dining in the conservatory or even outside.
